Diving In to Volunteer

Board Member Spotlight - David Piper, Northpark

As a board member for the past 6 years, David enjoys being part of his home community throughout the year. But when a neighbor asked David to host dozens of guests for a swimming clinic for underprivileged kids, he knew Crummack Huseby would work with him to make it happen. David says, “Triple Threat Mentoring tried to get pool time at other pools, but was unable to do so. My neighbor brought the concept to the swim team and the board, and it seemed like a very worthwhile cause.”

Crummack Huseby takes pride in being there for our homeowners, and we were proud to work with David to show the community and neighborhood why so many people love being part of Northpark. David worked closely with Christine Hulka, the Crummack Huseby Community Manager for Northpark.

“Christine ran with the idea, liaised with our counsel and insurance company, organized an emergency board meeting, and deftly coordinated the dissemination of information.  She really did a great job of getting us in a position to fairly evaluate the benefits and the risks of the event, within a very tight timeframe.  Without her, we wouldn’t have been able to pull the event off.”

David’s proud of how the volunteer board members took time out of their busy schedules to get educated on all issues, on very short notice.  “They carefully and deliberately evaluated the information provided, balanced the benefits to the neighborhood against the risks, and did a nice job working together to reach a great result.” This kind of generous teamwork is why he never wants to leave Northpark.

We’d like to thank David for being a great neighbor and helping Triple Threat Mentoring achieve an important goal, creating memories for everyone that will last a lifetime.
