December 12, 2017 Jennifer Norton, CCAM, CMCA Employee Spotlight
Lesley Millender-Irwin met Margo Crummack at a speaking engagement and instinctively knew her own positive personality would meld well with our company culture.
“Margo shared with me her great feedback regarding my presentation at the CAI Orange County Regional Chapter Symposium. In the back of my mind, I thought ‘I want to work with Margo and Crummack Huseby.’”
Then Lesley did what anyone would do in 2017, she reached out to Margo via social media. Months later, Lesley is now General Manager of The Travata Club, facilitating operations for the residents of this new, exclusive, gated 55+ community.
For the past 17+ years, Lesley has been known for juggling many tasks under pressure for master communities, and known for making the second round on the TV show, “Master Chef”—twice! While she keeps mastering her culinary skills by perfecting the perfect chewy but cake chocolate brownie, she’s still creating incredible social ideas for the residents of Travata in Irvine, “I’m a ‘Jill of all trades’ and make it my business to learn about everything, every day. You never know when you will have to roll up your sleeves.”
Her expertise is in the senior living communities and she’s eager to make her mark on behalf of Crummack Huseby, developing long-term relationships with the residents and help build a fun, active lifestyle for her community. Lesley stated, “Being on the ground-floor of a community opens the door of opportunity to create a tight-knit and engaging community atmosphere.” One of her extra touch points is implementing a "Meet the Manager,” a bi-monthly, community meeting to welcome Travata homeowners in a casual setting to listen and share thoughts or issues about building the best community possible. The bonus...Lesley brings homemade baked goods!
With an onsite office at Travata, Lesley is eager to be hands-on once again. She’s accustomed to being the face of the community she manages and welcomes the adventure and challenges that this new community may bring, “The key to making a harmonious community is to seek out who needs assistance and provide them with service that exceeds expectations.”
